Craniosacral
Is a semi-closed hydraulic system contained within a tough waterproof membane (the Dura Mater), which envelopes the brain and the spinal cord. An important function of this system is the production, circulation and reabsorption of Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). CSF is produced within the craniosacral system and maintains the physioloical environment in which your brain and nervous system develope, live and function. A technique for finding and correcting cerebral and spinal imbalances or blockages that may cause sensory, motor or intellectual dysfunction. Practitioners work with the subtle articulations of skull sutures, and the flow of cerebral-spinal fluid.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue doesn't mean more pressure necessarily, it means working in deeper layers of muscle to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body.
Effleurage
Is smooth, gliding stroke used to relax soft tissue used in Swedish massage.
Friction

Myofacial Release
(MFR) is a technique for working with fascia as a means of achieving pain relief, restoring function and reducing stress. Is used to evaluate and treat restrictions in the body's contractile connective tissues (muscles) and non-contractile supportive connective tissues (fascia). Fascia is a complex supportive web throughout the body it surrounds groups of muscle fibers, and entire muscle groups and organs. Myofacial release techniques are used to coax muscles in spasm to relax by the application of gentle traction, pressures & positioning.
Petrissage
Involves squeezing, rolling and kneading the muscles.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a system of massaging the hands and/or the feet with the intention of affecting other parts of the body. The feet and hands are regarded much like maps of the body, with points on feet/hands corresponding to organs and tissues in the body.
Shiatsu or Acupressure
Shiatsu is Japanese bodywork which uses pressure to points on acupuncture meridians. Practice of shiatsu is usually accompanied by study of Chinese five-element theory & meridians, and it involves a way of looking at the body that is completely different from the "muscles, bones & blood " view of western science, focusing instead on the flow of life energy through meridians. Shiatsu massages are normally done fully clothed, on the floor laying on a mat, rather than a table.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is an adaptation of Swedish massage. Its purpose is to prepare athletes for sporting activity and help them recover from the exertion of sporting activity.
Swedish Massage
Is a collection of techniques designed to relax muscles, usually long, slow strokes. It increases circulation, removes metabolic waste products, creates better awareness of their body
Tapotement
Is applied with fists or cupped hands with short, quick alternating taps to area being worked.
Therapeutic Touch
(TT) is a means of attuning to and directing the universal life energy. the goal is to release congestion and balance areas where the flow of life energy has become disordered. Removal of these blockages facilitates the person's intrinsic healing powers.
