FAQ'S

  1. What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
You will be required to fill out a health history form. Afterwards I will begin asking you general questions to establish proper treatment for your specific needs, including what areas you would like worked on, problems or pain you have been experiencing, if there are any conditions that may need to be evaluated to determine if massage is appropriate for you.

  2. What do I wear during the massage?
Depending on your treatmen plan, you may or may not need to undress. For full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. You will have complete privacy to undress, you will be covered by a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.

  3. What do I do during a massage treatment. Many people close their eyes, take deep breaths, and relax completely during a session, others prefer to talk , it's up to you. Make yourself comfortable and if I need to adjust your position I will either move you or ask you to move what is needed. I will be checking the pressure to make sure it is comfortable. Do not hesitate to ask questions or give feedback.

  4. Will it hurt?
It will depend on your treatment plan, in most treatment plans it should not hurt, I will check in frequently to evaluate your comfort level. Sore muscles will be tender, some treatments like structural corrections can be more intense, I will never work outside of your pain level.

  5. Will massage oils make me break out?
Most massage therapist use hypoallergenic oils or lotion, However if you have sensitivity to certain types of oils or lotions please bring it to my attention or, if you have a preference of lotion or oil.

  6. How long are massage treatments?
The average full-body treatment is 60-90 minutes, 30 minute treatments are for specific area's like neck and shoulders.

  7. Is massage for everyone?
No, there are several medical conditions that would not be appropriate. that is why you are required to fill out a health history form before your session takes place, it is very important to inform me of any health problems or medications you may be taking. If you are under a doctors care, it is strongly recommended that you receive a written recommendation or approval from your doctor to receive massage and present it with your intake form.

  8. How will I feel after the massage?
Most people feel very relaxed, and rejuvenated to conquer those things in life that seemed too hard to deal with. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during a massage, it is recommended that you drink lots of water following the massage to help flush toxins out. If certain areas are a little sore, hot Epsom salt baths help and stretching.
